Chateau Bel Air Marquis d'Aligre

Château Bel Air-Marquis d'Aligre is a winery located in the renowned Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. Although it was not included in the famous 1855 classification, the estate received the status of "exceptional grand cru" in the 1932 classification of crus bourgeois, a distinction proudly displayed on its labels. The estate was acquired by Pierre Boyer in 1947, and since 1950 it has been managed by his son, Jean-Pierre Boyer. Its vineyards cover 13 hectares, where the four main Médoc grape varieties are grown in balanced proportions—a practice that was common in the past but is now rare, with Cabernet Sauvignon usually dominating on Bordeaux's left bank. The varieties planted include 35% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 15% Petit Verdot, which adds a distinctive character to the estate's wines. This traditional approach to cultivation and winemaking results in unique wines that express the essence of Margaux.
